Famous worldwide for their masks, the Punu produced few statuettes, which are, by the way, exclusively female.

Some were used for ancestor worship, others were used in healing or divination rites or simply as prestige objects

This one represents a maternity: The hands surrounding the belly indicate the location of the source of life, underlined by evocative scarifications: How can we not see, in fact,  in these scarifications the face of the unborn child?
